Austrian motorway vignette fees
The vignette fee is set by law and is the same for all vehicles up to 3.5 t that you can order here: car, minibus, van and motorhome pay the same fee.
The vignette fee is 9.60 € for one day, 12.80 € for ten days, 32.00 € for two months and 106.80 € for the Austrian annual vignette. The service fee comes on top and is shown separately with every price.
Vignette types in Austria
Austria has four types of digital vignette. For regular use we recommend the annual vignette. For shorter periods there are the 2-month and the 10-day vignette, and for a single transit the 1-day vignette.
The annual vignette is valid until 31 January of the following year, or, if bought in December, until 31 January of the year after that; you see the exact end date before you buy. The 1-day and 10-day vignettes are usually registered within a few minutes of payment, the 2-month and annual vignettes by hand, which may take longer.
On the special toll sections A9 Pyhrn, A10 Tauern, A11 Karawanken, A13 Brenner and S16 Arlberg you pay a separate section toll instead of the vignette.
Before you travel
Before you travel, check that you carry your driving licence, vehicle registration certificate and proof of motor liability insurance (e.g. a Green Card), and that the vehicle has the mandatory equipment. From 1 November to 15 April, winter equipment (winter tyres or snow chains) is required in wintry road conditions.

Digital vignettes
The Austrian vignette is digital and linked to the vehicle’s licence plate: nothing is stuck on the windscreen, and checks are made by cameras and toll inspectors.
On VignettenPortal you can order the Austrian digital vignette in several languages. The registration service includes multiple payment methods, continuously available customer support and an SMS notification. There is no subscription: every order is a one-off purchase.
