Section tolls in Austria 2026: routes and prices
Last checked: 3 November 2026
The vignette is valid on almost all Austrian motorways and expressways. On a few Alpine routes with tunnels and bridges, however, it is not: there you pay a separate section toll instead of the vignette (Sondermaut).
The special toll sections and their prices
| Section | Car, single trip (2026) |
|---|---|
| A9 Pyhrn: Bosruck | €7.00 |
| A9 Pyhrn: Gleinalm | €12.00 |
| A9 Pyhrn: whole section | €19.00 |
| A10 Tauern | €15.00 |
| A11 Karawanken | €9.00 |
| A13 Brenner | €12.50 |
| S16 Arlberg | €13.00 |
As of 1 January 2026, car up to 3.5 t, single trip. The section toll is not part of the vignette and cannot be ordered from us; you pay it at the toll plaza or in advance as a digital section toll.
Do I still need a vignette?
Yes, as soon as you use another motorway or expressway before or after the toll section. Drivers heading to Italy over the Brenner usually take the A12 Inntal motorway first, which requires a vignette. On the toll section itself, the section toll replaces the vignette.
Typical routes
- To Italy over the A13 Brenner: see the route to Italy.
- To Slovenia and Croatia via the A10 Tauern and the A11 Karawanken: see the route to Croatia and Slovenia.
- Through Vorarlberg and Tyrol on the S16 Arlberg expressway.
For the stretches before and after the toll section you can order the digital vignette online from us.
